Sisters Kabalana is a casual cafe step away from the sands of Kabalana Beach, blending a cozy, homey atmosphere with a relaxed seaside vibe. It’s the kind of spot that suits both early risers looking for a satisfying breakfast and those who want a quiet place to linger over well-made coffee while watching the waves.

The cafe has a thoughtful approach to its menu, notably combining a Turkish breakfast tradition with fresh, local Sri Lankan ingredients, offering hearty portions that have earned praise from visitors seeking something a bit different from the usual beachside fare. Their Menemen (a Turkish egg dish) and a smooth Vanilla Iced Latte stand out as popular picks, reflecting the place’s knack for simple but flavorful pairings.

Visitors often mention the steady attentiveness of the staff and the way every element of the cafe feels carefully considered, from the presentation to the vibes. The space balances a cheerful, casual feel with a neat, clean setup, making it inviting for families, couples, and solo coffee lovers alike. While the menu might leave kids wishing for more sweet or playful options like pancakes or milkshakes, the generous breakfast sets and quality coffee serve as a solid draw for most.

Because of its beachfront location, mornings and late mornings are especially pleasant here—perfect for a relaxed brunch after a walk along Kabalana or a quick coffee to go for those passing through on the Matara-Galle Road. The combination of fresh ocean air, well-prepared food, and a friendly atmosphere creates a sense of connection to this stretch of southern coast living.

Travelers looking for a pause that’s more than just caffeine will find Sisters Kabalana offers a spot to enjoy the pace of the local day, whether lingering over breakfast or grabbing a thoughtful coffee to start a beachside adventure.

The city’s best cookies and coffee are definitely here! The atmosphere has such a wonderful, homey vibe. The staff are very attentive and lovely . Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. I absolutely loved it.

What we loved the most was how they added a touch of Sri Lankan flavor to their Turkish breakfast. Everything was fresh, delicious, and “more than enough”. We truly enjoyed it, can’t wait to come back, and highly recommend it.

Little gem of a cafe in Ahangama. Great for breakfast. The set breakfast is amazing value for all you get. Very clean. Tasty Food. Food choices for kids a bit limited. Some pancakes and milkshakes would be nice addition to the menu.

Beautiful setup and ambience. We stopped here for a quick coffee to go, but wished we could have stayed longer. The coffee was good and so was the service.

Hidden gem - try the turkish egg topped with yoghurt paired with a Simit (it comes warm and fresh!). Also the flat white is stunning. Very sweet ladies at service!

We had decided to visit this place long before even coming to Sri Lanka — it was one of those “must-visit” spots for us We finally went yesterday for breakfast. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. We ordered two of the two-person breakfast sets, plus an extra açma and a pişi (for 5 people). The breakfast wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely very good. The pastries were amazing — we might actually be in love with the açma and the pişi for sure! The jams were homemade, made from Sri Lankan fruits — a thoughtful and authentic touch (pineapple jam was yummy ) The menemen wasn’t exactly like the traditional Turkish version, but had a Sri Lankan twist — a bit more spiced, which we actually found quite natural and expected. The eggplant spread was a bit too garlicky for our taste and the cheese didn’t have a flavor, but since they make their own dairy products, it’s still a lovely detail. Also, seeing ayran (a Turkish yogurt drink) on the menu made me ridiculously happy Price-wise, it’s a bit more expensive than local places, but compared to other touristic spots, it’s great value for money — not too pricey, not too cheap. Overall, maybe not “perfect,” but very well thought out, beautifully presented, and full of heart. The place has such a warm, sweet vibe. Could it be even better? Sure — and we believe they will make it even better Also a special thank you to Vishmika, who took such good care of us.
